Tips for Children's Congress Application Letter

As promised, I wanted to share with you some additional tips on what to include in the letter to your Members of Congress that should be submitted with your 2011 Children's Congress (CC11) applications. See below for topics you MUST cover in your letter:
 

 

• Your personal story about living with type 1 diabetes
• Why a cure for juvenile diabetes is important to you
• Why the U.S. Congress should support diabetes research issues to help find a cure for type 1 diabetes
• If applicable, what have you done to promote awareness of type 1 diabetes in your community
• Acceptable file formats are .doc, .docx, .pdf, odf, and .txt

 
Once you’ve written your letter and have a passport quality picture to upload with your application, visit the Children's Congress application on Facebook and submit your application! If you apply to CC11 using Facebook, you’ll automatically be entered into a contest where one applicant will be randomly chosen to by-pass the selection review process and be awarded a slot to CC11 in September.
