Madison enjoys painting, dance and sports. “When I grow up I want to be a doctor. I want to help babies when they are new, and their moms,” she says. Madison and her family have a team for JDRF One Walk called ‘The Mad Squad,’ and they are proud to have raised more than $5,300 for T1D research. The family is also looking forward to taking part in this year’s JDRF Imagine Gala. Madison likes to spread awareness by sharing her T1D story with people she meets—and she loves to demonstrate how to check her blood sugar or do her injections. But, she adds, “I don’t want to have diabetes forever. I want to be able to eat cake with my friends at birthday parties and drink juice boxes at school with my friends.”
