Maggie works part-time as a teacher’s assistant at a local preschool and recently had the opportunity to mentor one of her students after a T1D diagnosis. She plans to work in the pediatric medical field. “My job solidified my want to make an impact and provide care for children.”
Several years ago, Maggie and her friends made a YouTube video, All About That Cure, and it was so popular, she got to speak on her local news to raise awareness about T1D! Being on a dance team sometimes makes managing T1D a challenge for Maggie, but her continuous glucose monitor and insulin pump make it a lot easier. “My quality of life and health have improved immensely from the new technologies.” She’s looking forward to advocating for more research funding.
