Danna is a cheerful 12-year-old who loves spending time with her friends. She spends her afternoons working on crocheting projects while listening to music. Danna is part of the Heartland Soccer team in Harrisonville, MO. Her favorite subject in school is mathematics, but she also enjoys learning cool facts about history. Danna was diagnosed in August of 2023 and participated in her first Breakthrough T1D Walk in 2024, where she raised funds by hosting fundraising events such as a car wash and selling snacks at her soccer field. Danna was also named 2025 Dream Gala Youth Ambassador for the Kansas City Breakthrough T1D Chapter.

Danna currently uses a CGM and an insulin pump to manage her T1D. She has always been intrigued by the medical field. After her diagnosis, she stated she would like to be an endocrinologist and help other children manage their diabetes by showing them that she understands what they are experiencing. After recently attending Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor’s book reading of “Just Ask!,” Danna feels more inspired than ever, knowing that a person with T1D sits on the highest court.
