Adam is an extremely social kid with a heart of gold and not a mean bone in his body. He loves spending time with his friends and playing sports, especially baseball. Adam is still exploring the many options and avenues involved in choosing a career path. However, he recently expressed a desire to become a social worker (like his mom) “because I like to talk to people, and I don’t like it when people feel sad.”

Adam was diagnosed in March of his 5th grade school year. He went in for a simple “rule out” but instead was “ruled in” with a T1D diagnosis. While in the hospital, Adam’s teacher, Ms. St. Denis, and all of the students in his class made Adam “get well soon” cards. It was heartwarming to see how each kid put so much time and effort into their cards. Adam and his family will never forget the kindness of his 5th grade teacher and classmates during such a difficult time.
