He is an award-winning gymnast, a junior drag racer, a sailing instructor, and he has won awards in art and poetry.

Alexander has also been a speaker at events for JDRF and the American Diabetes Association. Alexander is interested in becoming a professional drag racer, a motivational speaker, and a teacher. "I would love to find a cure for diabetes but in the meantime, I like helping others to deal with it," he says. As a delegate, Alexander wants to help Congress understand the health and financial stresses that diabetes places on families, and encourage the continuation of funding research.
