Aurora has a lot of big plans for her life, and she doesn’t intend to let T1D stand in her way. She loves all things arts and crafts, playing with her pets and older brothers, spending time outdoors with her mom, and playing softball, basketball, and soccer. Aurora is very proud of herself for not letting T1D hold her back from playing sports, and she’s hopeful that one day she won’t have to worry about it at all. Aurora’s dad also lives with T1D and she has seen the challenges he has faced and wants a cure for not just herself, but him too!

When she grows up, Aurora wants to work with animals, either as a marine biologist or as a trainer for service dogs. Aurora looks forward to coming to Washington, D.C. as a Children’s Congress Delegate and using her voice to make a difference. “I will help representatives understand why T1D research is so important, because I deserve to have opportunities when I’m older and to not have to think about diabetes.”
