Cayleb was diagnosed with T1D at the end of September—right before Halloween. It was hard to figure out how to safely eat candy! In the 10 years since, he is still tackling each challenge T1D presents. He quickly learned to handle his T1D on his own and is prepared with snacks and backup equipment. As an Eagle Scout, he is always prepared for whatever T1D brings.

Cayleb knows that this disease will not stop him from doing what he wants to do in life. He enjoys sports, including basketball, baseball, and soccer when he was younger. Cayleb is involved in bowling, BATA, Future Farmers of America, engineering, and Boy Scouts.

Cayleb wants to go to college for welding and construction after high school. He likes to work with his hands and enjoys building things with wood and metal.
