Cooper is a sports enthusiast and loves any game with a ball—baseball, football, basketball, golf, etc. He just started his spring baseball season and is looking forward to a summer full of camps. He has his first overnight camp with Camp Kudzu in June and is so excited to be around other kids with diabetes. He also loves to travel and is always up for a new adventure!

Cooper was diagnosed in October 2022, and his story is a testament to the importance of testing for antibodies.  Because his dad also has T1D, his family tested him early and were so much better prepared because of it.  He never went into DKA.  In fact, he had no symptoms other than an elevated A1c.  His favorite event of the year is the Breakthrough T1D Walk, and he is so proud of the money his team raises.  It’s such a special day when he feels totally celebrated by all his friends and family.
