Age: 15
Age at T1D diagnosis: 2

Daniela was diagnosed at age 2, so she doesn’t know life without type 1 diabetes. When she was little, she used to hate it because she felt it made her different from her friends and that T1D was limiting her. Today, she knows she can do everything her friends do and more!

Daniela volunteers in MDA, the Israeli national emergency medical service organization. She also enjoys music, playing guitar and tennis, and watching Marvel movies with her friends. She also has a SCUBA diving license and enjoys diving in the Red Sea.

Closed-loop technology was life-changing for Daniela, and she hopes to participate in future clinical trials of new technology. She has helped raise awareness and funds for T1D research by participating in Walks with her classmates and their families. Daniela is honored to represent Israel at this year’s event and looks forward to making new friends.
