Since her diagnosis with T1D at age 4, Grace and her family have made the Breakthrough T1D Walks an annual tradition, celebrating advancements in treatment and the ongoing pursuit of a cure. Grace’s largest Walk team of nearly 100 participants reflects the strong network of family and friends who have supported her along the way. Even after moving to Washington, D.C., Grace continues to feel the unwavering support of her extended family, who remain deeply involved in advocating for all those with T1D. The kindness and expertise of Grace’s amazing doctors and nurses over the years have helped her learn to manage T1D and have inspired her to pursue a career in medicine.
Grace is a stage manager for her high school’s production of Anything Goes. She loves being part of theater tech and working behind the scenes to bring the shows to life. In addition to theater, Grace is a dedicated swim team member, where she enjoys both competing in the pool and supporting her teammates. Her high school’s girls swim and dive team recently took first place at state! Thanks to her continuous glucose monitor and closed-loop insulin pump, Grace can stay on top of her blood sugar regardless of her activity.
