Jonas was diagnosed with T1D when he turned 2 years old. He has no memory of not having to manage the condition. Jonas hopes to work in the medical field one day to help other people with chronic medical conditions, as he can relate to the 24/7 ups and downs of trying to stay healthy.

Jonas eagerly awaits the start of track and field for his junior year, where his goal is to make varsity in three events. His favorite event is pole vault! His other events include the 200M and the 4×1. This year will be the first year that he will not wear his insulin pump during track season and instead manage his blood-glucose levels with multiple daily injections and his Dexcom. He is looking forward to less tubing and devices attached to him. His ultimate goal is to run track in college.
