Jonathan's lived with type 1 diabetes since age two. Unfortunately, he and his entire immediate family know diabetes all too well. His little sister and father also have type 1 diabetes, and his mother (who has type 2 diabetes) actively volunteers in their community.

Jonathan's lived with type 1 diabetes since age two. Unfortunately, he and his entire immediate family know diabetes all too well. His little sister and father also have type 1 diabetes, and his mother (who has type 2 diabetes) actively volunteers in their community. Jonathan takes care of himself with the help of an insulin pump. But having diabetes still isn't easy, so he does all he can to advocate for diabetes research. He's walked and volunteered at five JDRF Walks, helped run two kids' Walks at his school to benefit JDRF, and he promotes awareness about diabetes research in his neighborhood. Jonathan also participates in clinical trials to help researchers' progress. Jonathan is active in show choir and band, and is also a stage manager and engineer for his middle school. He is interested in one day having a medical career, being a bank teller, or working with computers.
