Julian and his family supported JDRF even before his diagnosis with T1D in 2015. His mother had gestational diabetes with both of her pregnancies, so his family members have been long-time advocates for diabetes research. They have participated in the Palmetto Chapter’s JDRF One Walk and Gala events for several years, and Julian speaks at school events and has greeted guests at the Gala as a JDRF Youth Ambassador. An aspiring pediatric endocrinologist, Julian is also an artist, a member of his school orchestra, and likes to run and play basketball. “T1D has taught me that there is something bigger than me in this world,” says Julian. “It has humbled me and opened my heart to help others.”
