Kayden is 13 years old. He was diagnosed with T1D when he was 9. After being diagnosed, he found it challenging to be around bigger groups of people because he was self-conscious that his Dexcom or insulin pump would give him unwanted attention. Kayden and his family got involved in Breakthrough T1D Walks and Galas to find connections in the T1D community.
Kayden likes drawing, gaming, and running track. He is especially proud of being a T1D Ambassador and helping newly diagnosed kids. In the future, he envisions going to college to major in art and possibly becoming a professor.
Kaden is grateful that organizations like Breakthrough T1D bring awareness and recognition to people with T1D. In the future, he would like to see lower insulin prices so more people can afford it, and for newly diagnosed patients to feel good about themselves having T1D.
