Next time you flip on the TV, open the newspaper, or turn on the radio, you might just encounter Kimberly. Through her TV, radio, and newspaper ads, she has helped raise awareness about T1D. One particular example stands out. “I’m especially proud of my radio ad, because it helped clarify the myth that I got T1D from not eating healthy and not exercising enough, and it was played on the best radio station in Madison.”
Kimberly has raised awareness by talking with newly diagnosed kids, visiting her state capitol as an advocate for funding T1D research, and participating in JDRF events, including Galas and Walks. As a gifted athlete—she placed second at a state gymnastics meet—Kimberly hopes to be an Olympic gymnast someday. She’d also like to become an archaeologist.
