Age at T1D diagnosis: 5

Lili doesn’t let T1D get in the way of the things she loves to do, like playing soccer and basketball, but it does bring its challenges. She says, “Unfortunately, I still have bad days when my blood sugar is too high or too low.” Lili takes part in JDRF One Walk with her team, ‘Team Lili,’ and she has gotten proclamations from her mayor and governor for World Diabetes Day. She dyes blue streaks in her hair during National Diabetes Awareness Month. “Diabetes can be a really scary disease. That’s why finding a cure is important. I hope someday there will be a real cure for me and everybody with diabetes.”
