Lyla is a bilingual actor, singer, dancer, and athlete who wants to be an endocrinologist when she grows up. She loves to perform in musicals, play baseball and basketball and swim with her swim team. Following Lyla’s T1D diagnosis as a baby, she and her family have been committed to improving life for herself and all kids with T1D through fundraising, advocacy and raising awareness. Lyla is excited to go to Children’s Congress and continue her advocacy efforts because, as she says, “if Congress keeps supporting the Special Diabetes Program, maybe I can just not have to worry about T1D when I’m grown up, because it’s cured.”
