Madyson is hopeful for what evolving technology can do for T1D. After her diagnosis, she recalls, “I was giving myself shots via insulin vial and syringe. I then was able to use an insulin pen, which made it easier than the syringe. Within a few short months, I then had my pump! I would love to see what they come up with next!” Madyson raises money for T1D research by leading her JDRF Walk team, Mady’s Angels, and selling raffle baskets at a local event each year with her family. “Diabetes doesn’t just affect me, it affects them too,” she says. Madyson enjoys playing soccer, camping, spending time with friends, shopping, and babysitting. When she grows up, she hopes to become a teacher. “Who knows—maybe I’ll be teaching kids about diabetes!”
