Age: 16
Age at T1D diagnosis: 2

Like many kids who found out they had T1D at a very young age, Molly can’t recall the day she was diagnosed. Or, as she puts it, “I can’t remember a time that I did not have diabetes, but I don’t let it define me!” An avid golfer, Molly is interested in pottery, photography (she likes using Instagram) and riding the scariest of rollercoasters. As for spreading the word about T1D, Molly and her family have been featured in JDRF Gala videos, and even received the distinguished Leeper Family Volunteer Award from the JDRF Heartland Chapter a few years ago. Molly has participated in a trial targeting the link between diabetes and osteoporosis, and, when she grows up, she hopes to become a nurse anesthetist or a mathematician.
