Sabine is a level two blue belt in taekwondo, and is proud of earning a gold medal for sparring in a regional tournament. She plays percussion and sings in the Honor Choir for her county. Sabine also has several writing accomplishments, including winning the Barbara Bush Literacy Foundation highest award with her essay on the cost of T1D. Since Sabine’s T1D diagnosis at age nine, she has become an excellent ambassador for the entire T1D community. Sabine is excited to go to Children’s Congress this year to advocate for T1D research funding, explaining, “people with T1D need to know that the U.S. Congress will help them in the long run, so that they’re not left to fend for themselves.”
