Sawyer was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 17 months and has managed his condition for as long as he can remember. Now 11 years old, Sawyer is an active and curious learner with a passion for science. He enjoys playing soccer, performing in his school orchestra as a violinist, and competing in chess.

Sawyer’s love of geology fuels his dream of someday becoming a geologist. His resilience, determination, and enthusiasm for learning make him a strong advocate for the T1D community.
