Sean was diagnosed with T1D at only 2 years old, which, his mom says, forced him to “gain strength that he was too young to even understand existed.” As most kids with T1D can attest, life changed in the moment of his diagnosis. Sean and his family became involved in spreading awareness of T1D by participating in JDRF Walks and hosting dress–down days and birthday parties. Yet Sean also lives the life of a regular 6–year–old. He enjoys playing sports, especially football, and loves to spend time with his family. As for the future, Sean declares, “When I grow up I would like to be a football player or actor. Most of all, when I grow up I want to be cured of type 1 diabetes.”
