Simone has never let diabetes hold her back from having new experiences and adventures! She is a cheerleader at her high school and also participates in their theater program. She has played piano for the last 12 years and has started a business giving lessons to younger children in her community.

Simone loves to be outside and has many hobbies, including downhill skiing, ice skating, water skiing, fishing, crocheting, cooking, reading a good book, and traveling. She values the qualities that come from meaningful relationships, hard work, and setting life’s goals.

In the future, Simone wants to be a pediatric cardiologist and make her patients feel seen, not just from a medical point of view, but as a whole person. She was a Walk Ambassador at the Breakthrough T1D Walk this past year in Spokane, WA. She got the opportunity to speak at local colleges, doctor offices, businesses, and at the Walk itself about her experiences with T1D, the challenges that come with it, and the effect it has on our mental health. Simone hopes to show that anything is possible for people with T1D.
