"I seem to enjoy everything," says Taylor. She loves school, plays soccer and softball, rides horses, plays piano, and is a Girl Scout, not to mention a whole list of other activities she wants to learn. "Diabetes is a part of me," she says, "and yet I really think I'm lucky. I have a wonderful family and lots of great friends." Taylor, diagnosed at age two, enjoys life but has experienced some scary moments, including a seizure she had while attending a baseball game with her dad. She has worked hard to promote awareness, speaking at a JDRF fundraiser when she was just four years old, talking to her class about diabetes every year, running lemonade stands to fundraise, and participating in Walks. "Team Taylor" won the Golden Sneaker Award last year for their fundraising. Taylor wants to help members of Congress understand what it's like to live with diabetes.
