Age at T1D diagnosis: 14

Tyler is an active high schooler who enjoys tennis, weightlifting, skiing, traveling, going to concerts, and hanging out with his friends and family.  After a life of moving across the United States, he was accustomed to change and adapting to new situations and environments. However, his biggest test came during his freshman year of high school when he was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes.  Tyler faced this challenge head-on and has adapted to his new normal.  He has learned to manage his blood sugar while playing sports, hanging out with friends, and traveling. Tyler is not looking back!

Tyler refuses to let T1D define him.  He continues to be an active high schooler, and he plans to attend college with hopes of becoming an architect.  He is an advocate for the T1D community and participates in his local Breakthrough T1D Walk with his family.

Tyler wants everyone with T1D to have access to the therapies that work best for them. He is proof that having T1D does not have to limit what you can do or accomplish.
