Yuvraj, a 15-year-old boy from Brookfield, WI, is sharing his journey with T1D to advocate for continued research and support for diabetes management. Diagnosed with T1D on July 27, 2020, at the age of 9, he has faced the daily challenge of balancing blood sugars and administering insulin doses. In the same year, he was also diagnosed with a full-blown autoimmune attack, including mixed connective tissue disorder, scleroderma, lupus, dermatomyositis, polymyositis, rheumatoid arthritis, and hypothyroidism, adding further to his medical challenges.
Despite this, Yuvraj still remains active in the things he enjoys most, including tennis and academic competitions such as Certamen, and he is hoping to become an investment banker one day; all these things are made possible with the advances in diabetes technology, including CGMs and insulin pumps. Through fundraising efforts, including his Walk team, Singh is King, and the founding of his school’s Medical Health and Science club, Yuvraj has raised over $6,000 for Breakthrough T1D. He is committed to raising awareness and advocating for diabetes research in hopes of one day finding a cure for all.
