Age: 17
Age at T1D diagnosis: 14

Elizabeth was diagnosed a few days before the Super Bowl and remembers seeing Noah Grey playing on the field. This helped remind Elizabeth that she could do anything and that this new challenge only made her stronger.

From the moment she was diagnosed, Elizabeth began building her T1D family. She loves finding other people with T1D “out in the wild” and conversing and trading tips and tricks with them. She loves helping others in this community feel less alone. She and her blood sugar, which she named Gary, have faced many ups and downs together, but she always faces each new day with a bright smile.

Elizabeth is involved in many activities at her high school, including fine arts like band, choir, and speech. She is also involved in activities in her community, like Girl Scouts and her local Breakthrough T1D chapter. She loves connecting with her community, such as working at her local coffee shop and volunteering for events. When she graduates, she hopes to attend college and open her own business.
