Kade is an active 9th grader who plays soccer, basketball, and baseball. He proudly wears his insulin pump and continuous glucose monitor in visible places to promote awareness of T1D.
Since his diagnosis in 2014, Kade has been active in his local Breakthrough T1D chapter through Walks, Galas, Summits, and as a Youth Ambassador. He has participated in many visits with members of Congress, won local and state math and science fairs about T1D, given class presentations, and trained school staff to teach others about what it’s like to live with T1D. He has spoken at local events and with his State Board of Education about the importance of nurses and technology in schools. He enjoys mentoring newly diagnosed T1D kids and is looking forward to serving as a camp counselor at his local T1D summer camp.
Kade’s goal is to be an engineer, maybe even a biomedical engineer. When Kade isn’t playing sports or participating in T1D events, he enjoys spending time with friends, hunting, fishing, youth group, being active outside, and working on the family farm or at the local creamery.
