Myles is committed to serving his community. As the recipient of multiple service awards, it’s no surprise that his hope for a cure is rooted in its benefits for others. “A cure for type 1 diabetes is important to me because it would make my life and that of the millions of others with this disease much easier. It would allow us a new freedom and the ability to do many more things, such as donating blood and serving in the military.”

Myles wrestles and plays soccer and lacrosse for his high school. He is also a second-degree black belt in tae kwon do, and shares his love of sports with kids as a soccer coach and tae kwon do instructor. Myles hopes to blend his passions for science, math, and health with a future career in sports medicine.
