Diagnosed with T1D in October, just before Halloween, Boston remembers how the nurses and pediatric unit made him feel cared for during that time. Having been involved with Breakthrough T1D alongside his mother—who was diagnosed 15 years ago—and classmates even before his diagnosis, the experience became a full-circle moment. His mother’s journey with T1D has given him valuable insight into managing his health, and his past participation in Breakthrough T1D Walks and fundraisers has inspired him to stay involved and help drive change.
Boston stays active and refuses to let his T1D define his day. He is passionate about tennis and regularly plays with his mother. He will start his middle school tennis season in the spring. Boston excels in school, especially in math and science. He is also a dedicated leader in his church, volunteering in the children’s ministry.
While the lifestyle adjustments of T1D can be challenging, Boston finds strength in his family’s support and his unwavering faith.
