Keegan can often be found horseback riding in preparation for a dressage show, playing on the softball field, or spending time with her two dogs, Blu and Noodle. She also loves hanging out with her family and friends. Keegan is blessed with friends who support her in her T1D journey by listening out for Dexcom alarms or joining her team, Keegan’s Krew, at Breakthrough T1D Walks. As a Breakthrough T1D Youth Ambassador for several years, Keegan has made many positive connections and experiences because of T1D!
Keegan does not hesitate to talk with others about her T1D, insulin pump, or CGM or share her story. Keegan speaks at local college nursing programs about T1D to raise awareness and positively impact the care they may provide to a person with T1D in the future. Keegan was diagnosed at 22 months, and over the past 11+ years, she has learned to take the lead in managing her T1D at school, at home, and during all her activities. Keegan wants to become a nurse and a diabetes educator to help others navigate T1D at diagnosis!
